Mobilux EP 2 and Mobilgrease XHP 222 Technical Equivalent Guide

Grease lubrication is a lifesaver at points of heavy load, water contact and high temperature where liquid oils can't do the job. Mobilux EP 2 and Mobilgrease XHP 222 are among the industry's best-known general-purpose bearing greases. At Rotek, we secure your systems by supplying these products and specification-based technical equivalent candidates (Shell, Petrol Ofisi, etc.).

Grease Mixing Warnings

Mixing greases with different thickener (soap) structures (for example lithium with polyurea, or lithium complex with calcium) is extremely dangerous and can cause the grease's structure to collapse within seconds. Even within the same soap type, it's recommended that the bearing be fully cleaned and cleared of old grease when switching brands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can lithium grease and lithium complex grease be mixed?

Lithium and lithium complex greases are generally considered compatible, but this isn't always guaranteed. Ideally, the old grease should be cleaned from the machine as thoroughly as possible when switching to a new brand or series.

Does using Gadus S3 V220C 2 instead of XHP 222 deliver the same high-temperature performance?

Both products are high-quality lithium complex greases with similar EP additives and temperature-resistance limits. They're technical equivalent candidates, but if your system has a very specific operating range, technical verification is required.
